2020 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4: Performance
The 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 will offer three engine options to choose from. A new for the 2020 model year is a turbocharged inline-6 diesel engine while pair of the V-8 petrol units are available again.
A new 3.0-liter inline-6 turbodiesel delivers 277 hp and torque of 460 pound-feet. The standard engine remains 5.7-liter V-8 petrol producing 355 horsepower and torque of 383 pound-feet. 6.2-liter V-8 petrol matches the torque of the diesel engine while produces 420 hp.
All engines will be in the pair with the 10-speed automatic transmission and the part of every AT4 is also a four-wheel drive with two-speed transfer case and locking rear differential. The model comes also with the 2-inch suspension lift and off-road-tuned Rancho monotube shocks straight from the factory.
As for the fuel economy, the AT4 will pay penalties for the standard all-wheel drive and the base V-8 petrol will return 16/21 mpg city/highway. A larger V-8 engine should score 15 mpg city and 19 mpg highway. The turbodiesel should manage 22 mpg city and 26 highways.
