The battle for the supremacy in the best-selling, light-duty pickup truck segment entered the new round with arrival of all-new Ram 1500 and GM’s Sierra and Silverado models. Ford was also spotted recently testing the new-generation F-150 for the 2021 model year.
The half-ton GMC Sierra 1500 was new from the ground up for the 2019 model year with the upgraded chassis, lighter body, and better equipped than ever. The number of powertrain options is also larger than ever and some details like multipro tailgate and carbon fiber cargo bad make this model more special as well. The newest generation of the GMC Sierra 1500 is also more uniquely styled than the corporate twin Chevy Silverado.
However, what also makes the half-ton Sierra even more unique is the availability of the ultra-posh Denali trim. This version lifts the level of refinement and comfort to the new levels providing maximum driving experience.
However, despite being fully redesigned for the 2019 model year, the 2020 version will also bring a number of upgrades and the 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali will also get some worthy improvements.
The biggest news for the next Sierra 1500 is the arrival of the turbodiesel engine. GMC will also expand the availability of the Carbon fiber bed and add an upgraded infotainment system with Sirius XM with 360L supported. The next Sierra 1500 will also be available with the Enhanced ProGrade Trailering system which has up to 15 cameras. The Denali version will gain new camera-based adaptive cruise system as well.
2020 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali: Design
With great attention to details, the 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali will be easily recognizable among other truck’s variants. The main identifying feature of the Denali-trimmed Sierra will be signature grille design which dominates the front side of the truck. The model will also use the GMC’s signature C-shape LED lighting.
The Sierra Denali will also have body-color bumpers while chrome will be used for the grille, door handles, window moldings and mirror caps. If the Denali trim would be chosen the model will come with unique 20-inch aluminum polished wheels. Buyers will also have a chance to get 22-inch multi-dimensional aluminum wheels as optimal equipment.
The truck will also equip multifunctional tailgate, carbon fiber bad and MultiPro power assist steps.
The interior of the model will also insist on the high-comfort features and top-notch technologies combined with unique material textures. There will be brushed aluminum and open pore ash wood trim inserts combined with perforated leather upholstery.
The truck will also come with the newest infotainment tech including an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple Car Playa and Android Auto features and newly available support for Sirius XM with 360L satellite radio platform. The equipment list will also cover the premium sound system, head-up display, navigation and more.
The comfort features will include 10-way power-adjustable front seats with heaters and ventilation system. The rear passages will also get heated seats and heating will also be available for the steering wheel.
GMC will also make the use of advanced safety systems and Denali will equip all of them. The truck will make the ride safer thanks to adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, parking assist, etc. The new model year brings a camera-based adaptive cruise control system which stops the truck when the traffic is stopped. The half-ton Sierra will also get Enhanced ProGarde Trailering system that debuted on the all-new Sierra HD and has 15 cameras.
2020 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali: Powertrains
The new model will bring some changes in the powertrain range of the half-ton Sierra and the 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali will also have some benefits from it.
The Sierra Denali will be available with the 5.3L V-8 engine equipped with the Dynamic Fuel Management system but this engine will switch from the 8-speed automatic transmission to 10-speed unit. The engine makes 355 hp and torque of 383 pound-feet.
The Denali trim will also allow the installation of the 6.2-liter V-8 again with Dynamic Fuel Management system and 10-speed automatic transmission. In this case, the truck has 420 horsepower and torque of 460 pound-feet at disposal.
The 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-6 engine will also be combined with the 10-speed automatic transmission and at disposal for the Denali trim. This engine provides 277 hp and torque of 460 pound-feet.

The premium 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali should start around $55, 000. The on-sale date should be by the year-end.
